So, Chicken and I are too loud – she got sent home. Kidding just kidding! We were loud but, didn’t get in trouble. She left a day early because of this stupid weather. My Mom is back and glad to be lol. Don’t know why she’s not missing anything lol. Chicken and I roamed the halls (good for me to walk as my feet are a little puffy), checked out the family lounge and was a little disappointed in the items in the vending machine (everything was baked, like baked chips and shit). If I’m going to the vending machine I want something GOOD! Oh well, they say my appetite will quit here soon – we will see. Today, Chicken was hanging some positive quotations that Tammy Branham printed off for me. My door must remain shut so she made a collage of prints on the back of the door AFTER she washed the whole back of the door. YES YOU HEARD ME CORRECTLY Alice (I mean Chicken) washed the door. She said it had like WD40 on it or something. Heaven forbid! I’m laying in the bed contemplating a nap as she is hanging these signage and I hear an organ. I said to her, did you hear that organ and she began laughing hysterically so, I said was that an organ or did you fart?! With that said we were both laughing. She said oh yes Lisa I can fart hymns that sound like an organ playing. LOL She was wanting to give me a make over before she left today. She wanted to put concealer on the dark circles under my eyes, bright lipstick, and lots of rouge and large hoop earrings! Don’t know if she was going to pimp me out or what. I put nothing past her. I slept with one eye open at all times lol. My Nurse Practitioner was quite amused with us (imagine that). He didn’t want to leave our room as we entertained for him. We told him to come back anytime.LOL Tonight will be filled with dinner, dateline, and chemo. Whoop Whoop! Happy Friday everyone. Be safe out there! Keep the Faith with me!
Talk about a whirl wind of a day……holy shmoly they move like a well oiled machine around here. Had labs at 1pm, a Neostar (line that goes into my juglar vein in my neck and exits my chest) placed at 2pm, and was in my room (5941) by 3:30/3:45, chemo began at 6pm. Not waisting any time, lol. The current chemo I am getting is Busulfan and I will get 16 total doses of it. I have to take an anti seizure medication with this as it is known to cause seizures. Sounds like a lovely drug doesn’t it? LOL I was awake the whole night. I mean wide awake! Not sure what that was all about but, they are going to knock my ass out tonight even if they have to hit me over the head with a bat. This is CRAZY! My mom slept beautifully lol. Food here is pretty good. Mom went for a walk this morning and scoped out the hospital. It’s an amazing place. Haena sent me a text message letting me know she got employee of the month at Scheels. How great is that? She got employee of the month and employee of the year in 2012. Must take after her mother ha, ha. Totally kidding her Dad is a hard worker too. Not much else to tell today. Hoping to nap some. Getting ready for my 3rd dose of chemo – bring it on! Have an awesome Hump Day! Keep the Faith
West bound and down, loaded up and truckin’,
a’we gonna do what they say can’t be done.
We’ve got a long way to go, and a short time to get there,
I’m west bound just watch ol’ Lisa run! (Lol). I thought that song was appropriate, just had to modify it! Bring on the day, let’s get it this going so I can start marking off the days on my calendar! Heading out about 1030 as I have labs at 1pm, 2pm a line will be placed in my chest, and 3pm check in. I won’t have a room till a little later but, that’s ok cause we will need to eat! I can’t have anything by mouth after 7am. JERKS! I’m gonna load up after 3pm. I’m gonna have salad and hopefully fresh fruit cause they will take that all away too. My gosh I feel like I’m going to fat camp ha, ha! Have a safe Tuesday everyone. I will update you as the shit starts hitting the fan!!! Keep the Faith!!
I spent the day with my baby girl. I needed to pick up some things (yes I wore my mask and used hand sanitizer like it was going out of style) for my trip and finish getting my affairs in order (tax info, bills, yadda, yadda). I mean you would think my bills would be on hold until I’m done being sick but, hell to the no! I still haven’t packed my bags yet – not sure if I’m procrastinating or just not real worried about it. I will pack tomorrow it’s a must as I’m having dinner with friends (at their home no public adventure) Saturday night and Sunday is a Pizza Party for my Mom’s Bday and a family hoopla before I go. Monday, Haena and I are getting Pedicures (yes I’m wearing a mask). I can’t go to Barnes with yuckie feet – My God what will they think? I’m leaning toward a hot pink color so I will think of white sand beaches and warm weather (well hopefully). Hope you all had a fabulous Friday and wishing a peaceful weekend. Keep the Faith!
I have no time for this cancer crap I’m too busy being a Mom (lol). So as you know last night was our traditional birthday hoopla. After, the celebration Haena left with her friend Whitney and went to K&K – an experience one must have at 21 (especially on a Tuesday Night ha,ha). I watched Chicago Fire and at 10:00pm I took all of my meds including my sleep aids. At 10:18pm I receive a text (lucky I heard it) from Haena stating she probably shouldn’t drive home. I told her I would drive her home and just spend the night at her house (she lives in Carlinville). I told her she better get her butt here soon or I will be comatose (LOL). She was a giggly mess – kinda funny actually. She was not drunk by all means but, was sure tipsy. As we drove I said “Well, isn’t this nice? The ‘ol bald headed mother with cancer has to drive her drunk ass daughter home and hoping her sleep aids don’t kick in!” We both cracked up laughing. We had to be up early as Haena had to work and I had to get labs. Wouldn’t have been so bad except I didn’t sleep well of course. I convinced my Mother that I would drive myself for labs today as the dog needed to go to the groomers and we couldn’t be in 2 places at once. I went for labs, dropped some clothes off to my stepsister as her baby is sick and in Pedi at Saints (yes I wore my mask and didn’t touch anything nor did I go in the baby’s room). Picked up a check from my stepsister so I could pay her water bill – dropped it off and then received a call from my Dad that my Mom had locked the keys in the truck at Carlinville Walmart. SOOOOOO I head to Girard, pick up the key and travel to Carlinville to yet again SAVE THE DAY! LOL. See what I mean? I have no time for this Cancer Crap I’m too busy saving lives, people. Needless to say, when I got home I grabbed a bite to eat and then slept for 3 1/2 hours (well deserved I believe). Best part of the whole day was………….my labs are back to normal (I say that loosely) and do not have to go back anymore!!!! Whoop Whoop! All I do now is wait for Tuesday to come and southbound we go (wish it was somewhere warm with a beach front view)! Hope your Hump Day was easy breezy! Thanks for hangin with me. Keep the Faith!
It’s a tradition at my house that the Birthday person picks what they want for their birthday dinner and we all gather to celebrate. Tonight Haena chose Spaghetti (I make my grandmothers sauce), garlic bread, and Caesar salad. We had birthday cake for dessert. Her party favors for her Big party came today. I rented a party bus to take her and her friends to Fast Eddies. She has a 21 Tshirt, light up 21 crown (so they don’t lose her lol), and what’s a party without party beads lol! Oh to be 21 again. She renewed her license and we got the giggles because her face takes up the whole square you can’t see anything but her face and hair. She said “my gosh I look like a lion with its mane” lol. It was pretty funny. I have to say her birthday celebration was a success and I’m hoping she enjoys Saturday night. I can’t believe it was 21 years ago today that she blessed us with her presence. Our family would not have complete without her. Her witt will keep you in stitches, her personality is like no other, and she walks to the beat of her own drum. I could not be any prouder of her and I’m glad God have her to me! (Glad he gave me Broc too). Happy Birthday to our Princess!
